The boys tennis team had their 16-match win streak snapped by Plymouth on Thursday night. Zach Ganger & Peter Vukovich prevailed at 2 doubles to remain undefeated. Andrew Vetter & Hugh Birky, also undefeated, won in straight sets at 1 Doubles JV and Jacob Grewe dropped only 1 game in a dominant win at 1 singles JV.

The boys tennis fought out a 5-0 win that was closer than the score would say. Hudson Kay capped it off with a 6-0 3rd set win after losing the first 3 games and the first set of his match. The JV improved to 8-2-2 behind wins from Jacob Grewe & Corbin Harrison at singles, and doubles wins from Andrew Vetter, Hugh Birky, Drew Weddle, Gio Aguayo, Bobby Sessa, Simon Myers, Aidan Strite, and Evan Krabill.

ON THE HEELS OF A DAVIS HOSTETLER INTERCEPTION AND CHASE KNOBLOCK BLOCKED PUNT, ALONG WITH AN ALL AROUND OUTSTANDING DEFENSIVE EFFORT THE JV REDSKINS SCORED ON A CJ DETWEILER TD PASS TO AUSTIN MARLOW WITH :28 SECONDS LEFT IN THE GAME TO BEAT NORTHWOOD 21-20. OFFENSIVELY FOR THE REDSKINS, CJ DETWEILER ALSO RAN FOR 2 SCORES AND HAD OVER 250 YARDS PASSING. JOSUEL SANCHEZ CAUGHT OVER 150 YARDS OF THAT ALONG WITH MICHAEL CHUPP AND MIGUEL NAVARRO CATCHING TIMELY PASSES. AUSTIN MARLOW COMPLETED THE RUSHING ATTACK WITH 95 YARDS, INCLUDING A 45 YARD RUN TO SET UP THE REDSKINS FIRST TD. JEFF STOHL CONVERTED THE 3 PAT’S TO MOVE THE REDSKINS RECORD TO 2-2, 2-0 IN THE NLC. THE REDSKIN JV WILL HOST CONCORD ON MONDAY 9-22.

The Boys cross country team competed at the county clash where the varsity boys finished 4th and junior varsity finished 2nd.
In the Varsity race Shawn Graves led the team with a 4th place finish followed by Gerardo Abad 5th, Lane Graves 13th, Juan Perez 33rd, Jason Barahona 36th, Jaime Castillo 48th , and Joel Byler 52nd.
In the JV race Andrew Pillow led the skins with his 9th place finish followed by Erik Villegas 11th, Zach Oyer 18th, Jose Ortiz 19th, Grant Simpson 28th, Nate Ganger 37th, and Irving Suarez 44th.
Their next meet is Tuesday against Plymouth and Northridge at the Plymouth country club golf course.

The girls cross country team competed at the county clash where both the varsity and junior varsity placed 3rd.
Nora Rangel led the varsity girls by placing 13th followed by Tricia Place 19th, Adriene Henke 22nd, Ariana Perez-Diener 39th, Jasmyn Brown 40th, Beatriz Castillo 41st, and Annelise Wiebe 44th.
In the jv race Kirsten Graves led the team placing 8th followed by Bethany Pollock 9th, Jacque Fernandez 23rd, Ellie Hathaway 30th, Aubrey Krueger 32nd, Maria Corbett 55th, and Kaylee Hettinger 56th.
Their next meet is Tuesday against Plymouth and Northridge at the Plymouth country club golf course.
