Fall Sports First Day of Practice Info

Girls’ golf practice begins on Friday, August 1.  All interested should report to Maplecrest CC for 3:30 – 5:30 PM practice. A Girls Golf parent player meeting will be held at 5:30 PM on Monday, August 4 at Black Squirrel Golf Course. All team members and a parent are expected to attend.

All other fall sports begin on Monday, 8/4.  All students need to have completed and submitted to the athletic department a physical exam dated after April 1, 2014, the emergency contact information card, the concussion information acknowledgement form, and have signed the GHS athletic code of conduct before being cleared to participate in practices.  The GHS athletic office is open from 7:30 AM – 4 PM.   First practice times and meeting locations by sport for Monday, 8/4 are:

  • Boys tennis: 8 – 10 AM, 6 – 8 PM at the GMS tennis courts
  • Boys soccer: 8 AM – 10:30 AM and 6 – 8 PM at the GHS soccer complex
  • Girls soccer: 8 AM – 10 AM and 6:30 – 8 PM at the GHS soccer complex
  • Boys and Girls Cross country: 4 – 6:15 PM at the GHS track (Foreman Field)
  • V/JV Football: 8 AM – 1 PM, meet at Foreman Field Team room
  • 9th Football:     4 – 6:30 PM at GHS Football Locker room
  • Volleyball, 8 AM – noon and 6 – 8 PM in the Main Gym
  • Cheerleaders, 2 – 4:30 PM in the GHS Warehouse

For those still needing an athletic physical, please make an appointment with your family doctor right away, or contact the athletic office at 533-0652 if you need other alternatives for physical exams. All appropriate paperwork can be picked up in front of the GHS athletic office or at ghs.goshenschools.org.

A parent player meeting for all fall sports except for girls golf will be held at GHS at 6:30 PM on Thursday, 8/14. All team members and a parent are expected to attend.

Athletic Ticket Pick Up Information

Returning all-sport Ticket holders are reminded to return your order forms to the GHS athletic department. Please email Janet Johns at jjohns@goshenschools.org if you intend to purchase but have not yet returned your application.

We apologize for some wrong dates being listed on the application sent to last year’s ticket holders.  These dates that follow are correct:  Goshen High School will distribute and sell athletic tickets in the GHS athletic office on Monday, 8/11 from 8 AM – 4 PM for Returning all-sport ticket holders. New all-sport or all-sport wanting new seats can do so on Tuesday, 8/12 during the same hours. Football season tickets will be distributed on Tuesday, 8/12 from 1 – 4 PM and on 8/22 at the first varsity football game through halftime.

Admission at Gate for Varsity Football this year will be $6.00 for Kindergarten through – Adult. Admission at Gate is increasing to $5 this year for all levels of Soccer, Volleyball, and JV/frosh football.

Season Football tickets also allow admittance to JV and 9th Home games.

Meet the New GHS Head Softball Coach

GHS is proud to introduce Mr. Brent Kulp as its’ new head softball coach.   Mr. Kulp is a graduate of Manchester College, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Education and Health Education.   Mr. Kulp’s level of experience in the classroom and his education based approach to athletics will add much to Goshen Schools.

He was a PE/Health teacher in Baugo Community Schools for 18 years and head softball coach at Jimtown HS for 15 years. Under his direction, Jimtown earned 5 NSC conference championships, 5 sectional titles, and 2 regional titles during those 15 years and his teams compiled an overall record of 285-133-1.

Brent will teach physical education and work as a Title 1 instructor at Chandler Elementary school in Goshen. Brent’s wife is Corie they have a son, Connor.
