Come out and support the GHS cheerleaders as they work together with Culver’s in Goshen to raise money for their program. Culver’s Night will be on October 6th from 5:00 -8:00 p.m.
Goshen High School will host an IHSAA Boys Tennis Sectional this Wednesday – Friday, 10/1-1 at Goshen Middle School. All match start times are scheduled for 4:30 PM. Please note that there is construction at GMS that has eliminated all but about 40 parking spots north of the building by the tennis courts. Handicap fans and seniors are encouraged to drop off by the tennis building before parking. There is a home football game on 10/1 at GMS, so parking may be particularly challenging on that date. The draw is:

Match 2: Thursday, 10/2: Bethany Christian vs. Jimtown
Match 3: Thursday, 10/2: Fairfield vs. Winner of Match 1

Flu shots will be available for those 10 years old and older at the GHS vs. Northridge Football game on Friday, October 3rd at Foreman Field. Cost is $20 and cash, check or credit cards are accepted at the time of service. For the Goshen vs. Northridge homecoming football game on Friday, October 3rd, the Goshen High School athletic department is working with The Window and Northridge High School to collect non-perishable food items to help stock The Window’s food pantry. All fans who bring a non-perishable food item will receive a coupon worth $1.00 at the concessions stand. Let’s stamp out Hunger in our community by supporting this awesome organization!

Volleyball: On Tuesday, October 7th, the GHS and Bethany Christian Volleyball teams will be working together in order to raise funds for Breast Cancer research. The annual Spike Out Cancer event will be held at Bethany Christian high school with the JV game beginning at 5:30 p.m.
T-shirts for this event will be $10.00 and can be purchased by going to the following link: http://www.bethanycs.net/vcure_order. You can also fill out an order form and return to Kelsey West in the Athletic Office at GHS. Order forms and payment must be returned no later than Tuesday, September 30th.
All proceeds from ticket, t-shirt and silent auction sales will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Please come out and support a great cause!
Girls Soccer: Tonight, September 22nd, the Girls’ JV Soccer game will only be playing a 35-minute half instead of a full game against South Bend Riley. The Varsity game will still play an entire game immediately following the JV game.
C Team Volleyball: The C team volleyball match against New Prairie will be played at home in Whiteman Gym this Thursday, September 25th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. This match was originally scheduled to be played at New Prairie.
August Edward Jones Scholar Athlete of the Month:
Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August – May each school year. At the end of the year, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS head coaching staff.
The winners of the Edward Jones Student-Athlete of the Month Award for August are:
Adrienne Henke: Adrienne is the daughter of Bob & Denise Henke. Adrienne has ran as the #1 runner for the Girls’ Cross Country team and also participates in Track & Field at GHS. She is involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Athletic Council, National Honor Society, Stay in Bounds Ambassadors, and the youth group at her church. Adrienne plans to go to a four-year college to possibly major in nursing.
Isaac Huerta: Isaac is the son of Francisco Huerta & Maria De La Vega. Isaac accumulated 8 goals and 2 assists for the Boys Soccer team as they moved to 3-0 in the month of August. He also participates in Boys’ Basketball at GHS. He is involved in National Honor Society and the Elkhart County United Soccer Club. Isaac plans to study civil engineering and become a professional soccer player.
JV Football: The JV Football game on Monday, September 22nd will be played at Goshen High School. This is a change from what was printed in the GHS pocket calendars. Start time is still scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
JV Volleyball: The JV Volleyball game versus Plymouth on Thursday, October 2nd will begin at 6:00 p.m. instead of the original listed time of 5:30 p.m. This game will still take place at GHS.
Freshman Football: The Freshman Football game scheduled for Thursday, October 16th against Plymouth will begin at 6:00 p.m. instead of the originally listed 5:30 p.m. The game will still be played on Foreman Field at GHS.
