Community Welcome Home Ceremony for Boys Soccer

On Sunday, November 2nd, there will be a ceremony at Goshen High School beginning at 2:00 to welcome home the Boys Soccer state finalist team. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and you many enter any door around the main gym or Door M. This is open to all community members and will be held in the main gym. Please meet at 1:15 p.m. in the Kroger parking lot if you would like to take part in the procession that will include the Boys Soccer team with Goshen Police and Fire department escorts. Come out and help us recognize the team’s great success this season!

Fall Sports Awards Night

The Goshen High School Fall Sports Awards night will be Monday, November 10th. This will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Main gym including all fall athletic teams with individual team break-out sessions to follow.

NCAA Eligibility Workshop

Concord High School, in cooperation with Purdue University, is pleased to offer an educational workshop on NCAA compliance.  This workshop will provide insight on what it takes to play at the next level and how to comply with NCAA eligibility rules.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, November 5 at 6:30 PM in the Community Lecture Room at Concord High School (enter Door 12 / McCuen Gym Entrance).  The workshop will last approximately one hour.

Athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators from all Elkhart County High Schools are invited to attend.  The workshop is free and no pre-registration is required.

Boys Soccer State Finals

The boys soccer team will be competing in the 2A state finals this Saturday, November 1st versus Brebeuf Jesuit. The game will be held at Michael A. Carroll Track & Soccer Stadium at IUPUI at 3:30 p.m. Admission is $10.00 per person and parking at IUPUI is $5.00. The address for the stadium is 1001 W. Presale tickets are available in the Athletic Office on Wednesday and Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. and also on Friday from 7:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Please enter Door C.

GHS will offer a pep bus to the soccer match for any GHS student. Please meet at Door M and departure from the high school will be 11:00 a.m. If you are interested, you must sign up in the athletic office by the end of the day Wednesday and turn in a $2 deposit for the ride. You must also complete a field trip form and submit that before accessing the bus. When you turn in your form, you will also need to purchase your State Finals ticket for $10.00. Boys Cross Country State Finals

The boys cross country team will be competing in the state finals this Saturday, November 1st. The race will be held at LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Sports Center beginning at 1:45 p.m. Admission is $8.00 per person and ticket gates open at 9:00 a.m.

The address for the course is 599 S. Tabortown Road, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47803. Directions and maps of the course can be found on the GHS Athletics home page. The administration at Terre Haute North strongly encourages you to avoid interstate I-70 from any direction when traveling to the State Finals. Boys CC Qualifies for State, Boys Soccer SemiState Champs!

Another great Saturday for GHS athletic teams in state tournament play! Congratulations to our boys Cross Country team on their 4th place finish at SemiState, which earns them a trip to the state meet in Terre Haute on 11/1/14 at 1:45. The girls CC team competed well in finishing 13th at SemiState.

The boys soccer team won the Warsaw SemiState by defeating #1 ranked and undefeated Chesteron 2-0 in the AM and then returning in the evening for an unbelievable 3rd shootout win in this tournament series run. The boys will play Indianapolis Brebeuf for the class 2A state championship on Saturday, 11/1/14 at 3:30 PM at IUPUI’s Carrol Stadium. The boys are 19-2-1. The Goshen girls lost a heart breaking 1-0 SemiState semifinal game to FW Carroll and finish the year at 18-2-1.
