Girls Basketball: Both the JV & Freshman Girls’ Basketball teams will play at the same time at SB Adams on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. The JV & Freshman games will begin at 6:00 PM with the Varsity game to follow the JV.
Freshman Boys Basketball: The Freshman Boys’ Basketball game versus Fairfield scheduled for Saturday, December 20, 2014 has been cancelled. There will no longer be a Freshman Boys’ Basketball game that night. The JV will still play as scheduled at Fairfield beginning at 6:00 PM with the Varsity to follow.
Goshen has added a game at John Glenn on 1/27/15 to replace the Fairfield game. This game will start at 6 PM.
NIC/NLC Boys Basketball Shootout: The annual NIC/NLC Holiday Basketball Shootout including teams from Goshen, Mishawaka Marian, Northridge, and Mishawaka will be held at Goshen High School on Saturday, December 27th. The first game will feature Mishawaka and Northridge and will begin at 10:00 AM with Mishawaka Marian versus Goshen to follow.
Tickets are $5.00 for Kindergarten through Adult and ticket gates will open at 9:15 AM. There are no reserved seats for these game and Goshen All-Sport and Boys Basketbll tickets will NOT be honored. NLC & NIC passes will be accepted.
Applebee’s Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament: The annual Applebee’s Holiday V/JV Tournament will be held Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Goshen High School. JV games will begin in both gyms starting at 11:00 AM with the Varsity games starting in both gyms at 12:30 PM (see full schedule below). Admission is $6.00 for Adult and $3.00 for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Ticket gates will open at 10:15 AM. There are no reserved seats for this event but GHS All-Sport and G Basketball season tickets will be honored.

Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August – May each school year. At the end of the year, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS head coaching staff.

Row 1: Keith Neuenschwander, JT Plavchak, Maggie Walters, & Aaron Wilkinson
Maggie Walters: Maggie is the daughter of Joe & Amy Walters. Maggie is a senior on the girls’ swim team and is not only one of the captains, she is also a reliable contributor in the 100 Back and Medley Relays. In addition to her 4.14 GPA and swimming success, she aslo organized the JDRF fundraiswer swim meet. Maggie provided swim caps and t-shirts for both the Goshen and New Prairie teams, and raised thousands of dollars to help turn Type 1 to Type None. Maggie is also involved in NHS, Student Council, & the Student Faculty Senate. She has been a 3-year Student Athlete Scholar for swimming and is her class President and co-president for NHS. Maggie plans to go to college and major in Biology and minor in Spanish with a pre-med focus. She also hopes to study abroad and eventually go to medical school.
JT Plavchak: JT is the son of Mark & Carla Plavchak and is a senior on the boys’ soccer team. He also participates in football and is a part of NHS, his church Youth Group, and is a Boys State Graduate. JT has received many soccer honors including NLC All-Conference & Honorable Mention, Academic All-State, Top Team Player Award, & the Scholar Athlete Award. JT plans on attending Trine University to play soccer and major in Physical Therapy.
Congratulations to Boys Soccer Coach Viratham Mounsithiraj for being name as the Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year for 2014! This is a great honor for Coach V, GHS, and the Goshen community.

In recognition of our boys’ soccer team being State Champions, the Goshen City Council would like to honor our players during their December meeting.
The Goshen City Council cordially invited players and their family to attend the meeting on December 9, 2014 at 7:00 PM where they will formally honor the 2014 2A State Championship Team. The recognition of the team will take place right at the beginning of their meeting. Please plan on attending this meeting so that we can help recognize our young men and their great accomplishment.
The meeting will take place in the City Courts Building, 111 E Jefferson St. Goshen, IN.
