Hacienda Holiday Girls Basketball Tournament: The annual Hacienda Holiday V/JV Tournament will be held Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Goshen High School. JV games will begin in both gyms starting at 11:00 AM with the Varsity games starting in both gyms at 12:30 PM (see full schedule below). Admission is $6.00 for Adult and $3.00 for Kindergarten through 12th grade. Ticket gates will open at 10:15 AM. There are no reserved seats for this event but GHS All-Sport and G Basketball season tickets will be honored.

Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August – May each school year. At the end of the year, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS head coaching staff.
The winners of the Edward Jones Student-Athlete of the Month Award for November are:
Row 1: Keith Neuenschwander, Kyrie Potter, Logan Maynard, & Aaron Wilkinson
Kyrie Potter: Kyrie is the daughter of George & Natalie Potter. Kyrie is a senior on the girls’ basketball team and maintains a GPA of 3.904. She is also involved in track & field, student athletic training, Academic Super Bowl, Stay in Bounds Ambassadors, Student Athletic Council, and Student Athletic Advisory Council. She has been a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete in basketball and track all throughout her high school career. Kyrie shot 62.5% from 2-point range, 50% from 3-point range, and 72.7% from the free throw line for a total of 87 points (12.4 points per game) in November. In addition, she had 17 offensive rebounds and 41 defensive rebounds (58 total, avg. of 8.29/game). She helped to lead her team to a 6-1 record in November. Kyrie plans on going to college after graduating from Goshen and is currently undecided on her major.
Logan Maynard: Logan is the son of Ron Maynard & Shannon Hanna. Logan is a senior on the wrestling team and maintains a GPA of 3.0. He is also involved in stock car racing. Logan has received many honors while at GHS including Semi-State Qualifier, War on the Wabash Champion, and is a 3-year letter winner in wrestling. He also went 10-0 at the Lafayette Super Duals in November, recording 8 pins at the tournament. After graduating from Goshen, Logan plans to continue working at Monteith Tire.
The wrestling match between Goshen HS and Wawasee HS scheduled for this evening has been postponed due to a traffic accident involving the Goshen bus. Initial reports were that no one on the bus incurred injuries.
