Edward Jones Scholar Athlete of the Month:
Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August – May each school year. At the end of the year, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS head coaching staff.
The winners of the Edward Jones Student-Athlete of the Month Award for March are:
Row 1: Cam Kline, Keith Neuenschwander, & Nora Rangel
Nora Rangel: Nora is the daughter of Nora Medina & Marco Rangel. She is a senior on the girls’ track team and maintains a GPA of 3.371. She is also on the cross country team, orchestra, art club, and Stay in Bounds Ambassadors. Nora was the anchor leg of the 4 x 800 team that qualified for the Indoor State Championship in March. In 3 track meets in March, she placed first in the 1600 twice, 1st in the 400, 1st in the 4 x 800 three times, and 1st in the 4 x 400 in helping lead the girls’ track team to a 5-0 record to start the season. Nora is a three-year letter winner for track and cross country and has received many awards while at GHS including Beets Hoke Teamwork Award, NLC All-Conference in the 3200R (2014-15), Sectional Champion in the 800, 3200R, 1600R (2014-15), and State Qualifier in the 3200R (2014-15), Most Valuable Player (cross country, 2015-16), and Kiwanis Scholar Athlete. After high school, Nora plans on attending Goshen College and then Ball State to major in Nursing. She plans on working with people who are sick in different parts of the world as well as work in the photography field.
Cam Kline: Cam is the son of Maurie & Dawn Kline. He is a senior on the boys’ basketball team and maintains a GPA of 3.497. He is also on the football and track & field teams, GTV, GHS Redzone, and Stay in Bounds Ambassadors. Cam was 70% from the field in the two postseason basketball games in March, 72.7% from 3’s, and 100% from the free throw line. He had 39 points and 4 assists and was first team all-sectional (Elkhart Truth). In track, Cam placed first in the 4 x 100 Relay, 4 x 400 Relay, and the 200m dash against West Noble. Against Fairfield, Cam placed first in the 400 m dash and the 4 x 400 Relay. He is a three-year letter winner in football, basketball, and track and has received many honors while at Goshen including All-Conference Honorable Mention (football, 2014-15), Captain’s Award (football, 2015-16), and Beets Hoke Teamwork Award (basketball, 2015-16). He has been a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete each season of his high school career as well as being on the High Honor Roll each year. After graduating from Goshen, Cam plans on attending Purdue University to pursue a major in Pharmacy.
