The Northern Lakes Conference will hold the NLC Championship Cross Country Meet on Saturday, September 30th at Ox Bow Park near Dunlap. This meet will be held at the same site as the Northern Indiana Conference Cross County Championships.

Goshen High School will be hosting the 2017 IHSAA Class 2A Girls Soccer Sectional on Tuesday, October 3rd beginning at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5th beginning at 5:30 p.m., and the championship will be on Saturday, October 7th at 7:00 p.m.
As set by the IHSAA, an all-tournament pass will cost $10.00 and single session ticket prices are $6.00 for those in Kindergarten through adult. Gates will open 45 minutes prior to the first game of each session.

Goshen High School will be hosting the 2017 IHSAA Boys Tennis Sectional on Wednesday, September 27th, Thursday, September 28th and Friday, September 29th at the Goshen Middle School tennis courts. There is no admission fee to the tournament.

On Thursday, September 21st the Varsity girls soccer team will play against East Noble at 6 PM. This change is due to East Noble not having a JV team. Senior recognition will take place at halftime of the game.
The Varsity and JV volleyball games that are scheduled to be played at Elkhart Christian Academy on Saturday, September 23rd have undergone a time change. The JV will now play at 9:00 AM and the Varsity will play at 10:30 AM.
On Saturday, September 16th the Goshen Varsity Volleyball Invitational will now start at 9:30 AM. This change in time is due to the number of teams that will now be competing in the tournament.
The JV boys tennis invitational that was originally scheduled to be played at Wawasee on Saturday, September 16th will now be played at Goshen Middle School. The change in location is due to Wawasee’s tennis courts still being under construction.
Goshen High School and Edward Jones are proud to announce the student-athlete of the month award to recognize athletic and academic excellence. A senior male and female student-athlete will be selected from August-May each school year. At the end of the year, a $500 scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female student athlete of the month, as selected by the GHS coaching staff.
The winners of the Edward Jones Student-Athlete of the Month Award for August are:
-Jill Kissinger: Jill is the daughter of Kelly and Larry Kissinger. Jill is a captain of the girls soccer team and led the team to a 4-2-1 record for the month of August. She had 6 goals and 2 assists while also helping the defense earn three shutouts. Jill also participates in basketball and track at GHS. Jill is a member of the student council, National Honor Society, Student Athletic Council, and is an ambassador for the Stay in Bounds program. Outside of school, Jill participates in her church’s youth group. Jill has been named a Kiwanis Scholar Athlete throughout her high school career for her hard work both in and out of the classroom. She has been named a 3-time MVP in track as well as a 3-time All-Conference athlete in track and soccer. After high school, Jill plans to attend college and major in Architecture.
-Simon Myers: Simon is the son of Kevin and Jennifer Myers. Simon is 8-0 at the 1 & 2 Singles positions in August for the 9-1 varsity tennis team. The returning Mental Attitude award winner, Simon is undefeated this season, winning 132 games & dropping only 11 in 7 of those matches. The 8th was a 3-set victory in the deciding match to clinch the team win over sectional rival Jimtown. Besides tennis, Simon also participates in basketball and track. Simon is a member of the National Honors Society, PACT and is an ambassador for the Stay-in-Bounds program. After high school, Simon plans to attend IPFW where he will study in the medical field.
On Saturday, September 23rd, we will be recognizing the 2007 Boys Soccer team who advanced to the Final Four in the IHSAA state tournament in a one class tournament. Team members who are able to attend will be announced at half-time of the boys soccer game against Fort Wayne Carroll. The start time of the game is 10 AM.
After the game, ’07 team members and family are invited to a luncheon to be hosted by the GHS athletic department and the current boys’ soccer team. It is requested that team members email Mr. Larry Kissinger at email@example.com to let him know if you can attend the event.
